Hiking in the rain…..

We are still very busy and have concluded that we will be very busy until we come home. The youth in the stakes here in Apia are having a youth conference for 3 days here at Pesega School in a couple of weeks. They have raised money with car washes and other activities to fund their participation at the conference. The Pesega Lua (2nd)Ward did a program to raise money. This is the ward that Gramma is helping with their ward choir program, that’s beside helping our ward with its program. Groups in the YM/YW preform and you donate money before, during, and after the program.  Most of them were very good.

This group is from the Motootua Ward single adults that we teach on Sunday. They were just trying to help out.

Saturday we went with the Goodlets (from Australia) and the Roos ( the retired Idaho Falls Police Chief), and went on a hike to the MA tree, and then to Togitogiga falls to swim. As we started the hike it started to rain, but we continued up the trail and it was worth it. We were glad we had our swim suits under are clothes.

Then there was the falls.......
Above and below is one of the little Samoan girls that were there with their family.

We got home worn out and prepared our Sunday school lesson for Sunday and our talks for the entire school devotional (1200 students) on Monday the subject being “the importance of learning  English”. Well after all the panic on the talk they closed school because of a “pink eye” infestation on the Island of Upolo. We still taught our class in Sauniatu with just the teachers, and the teachers are coming in for our class here in Pesega. Our supervisors Elder and Sister Jacobsen are coming this week from New Zealand and will be here five days with us. As you can see things just keep hopping. Gramma will be doing the family email tonight or tomorrow, hope you are all doing well. We love you, Tofa Soifua,
Elder and Sister Hammond
