It was so busy this week that we didn’t have time for to many fun activities. Gramma has not got to go on many shopping sprees, so when Sister Goodlet invited her to go with several other Sisters (without Grampa hurrying her), she jumped at the chance. Before they left the back door they had to kill this centipede that was on the step. You do not want them to bite you!
This is a little Fale that is part of the plantation store they went to shop at, but it wasn't the only one.
This is the ringleader Sister Goodlet.
Just a sample of the stuff there.
The other three are Sister Winter (husband is an auditor), Sister Jackson (Institute), and Sister Kamerath (Nurse).
This is a little restaurant that Gramma bought lunch for the Sisters.
Above are the boards with patterns that they paint the tapa cloth on.
This craftsman below is finishing a lamp shade.
The next two are Rambutan, a fruit Gramma was given. You peel it and eat the inside. Grampa passed on eating it, it looked like eyeballs when peeled.
One of the reasons we didn’t have time for fun on
Saturday was we hadn’t gone to the Temple this week so we went Saturday
morning, then a lot of wash, and getting ready for three couples and Sister
Kamerath for Sunday dinner (yes, Gramma can still cook a great Sunday dinner).
We had choir practice on Saturday afternoon, and Sunday afternoon. They take
choir seriously here. That’s it; we hope to have something more exciting than
shopping next week (Grama did have beautiful dress made for her, she now can look like a real native of Samoa). Love you all, tofa soifua, Elder and Sister Hammond
By the way, we go off
daylight savings time on Sunday and we will be one day ahead and five hours
behind you. That means to call we have to do it early.
